One hopes that tonight I can work on my art.....though my entire being is in service to the canine master until late tomorrow. Last night I was perusing my recipes to decide what desserts I would be preparing for Easter. The meal is at the in-laws and desserts are my assignment. Not just one dessert, perhaps three. The sure one that I have decided upon is my coconut cream pie. That recipe was discovered about seven years ago and has always been hugely popular. One MUST have a chocolate selection or the world would surely hiccup on its axis! I believe the chosen one shall be a Decadent Chocolate Layer Cake - chocolate layer cake with a hint of almond liqueur with a luscious layer of almond-flavored cheesecake in between the two layers of cake and frosted with chocolate-almond frosting. This will be a new one, I always do a new recipe of some type and almost chose this for Christmas. Uh, er, may not be prudent to try a new recipe the night before the event.....but I'm a risk taker....livin' on the edge - yeah! The last choice is still up in the air....a cobbler, a pound cake with fruit, cookies.......not sure about that one..........yet! Stay tuned!
Ooooo! Can I come to your dinner???
ReplyDeleteThese sound so delish, especially the chocolate cake, no matter if it fails. I commend you for your courage. My attempts at cooking ALWAYS fail. (Well, I can make some mean deviled eggs.)
As sick as I am I can still taste that Decadent Chocolate Layer Cake. Oh my. Can I come too?? :)
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful!! All your talk of desserts is making me hungry...and I just ate!
ReplyDeleteWell, Easter will be at my house (as was Thanksgiving, oh yes, and Christmas, too! Do I sound bitter??) and I was going to leave dessert up to someone else- but your dessert ideas sound too good. Hey, AU, do you think your inlaws can stand one (in italics) more guest??
ReplyDeleteYou are ALL invited!
ReplyDeleteSounds sumptuous...I loved the description of the choc cake. Very tempting:)
