First Watercolor in over 25 years........

I didn't intend to attempt a real picture but I can't really play with it, I have to try to make it work and then just learn from it. I went back and forth on whether it was a serious attempt, the middle is supposed to be layers of mountains but the colors are too dark/bright for the effect it needed. I rushed the grass and left tree for sure. I was working on it yesterday morning and I bet the phone rang at least five times...always check it when you have kids at school and off at school. My husband works from home and called me downstairs twice............finally finished it last night. It is 9 by 12. I enjoyed it and think there is another brush or two that I need, will definitely do more. But I did it and you all have had a HUGE part in inspiring me!!!!!

  2. I can't believe how fast you cranked that out - in spite of the interruptions! I really like the naked tree branch in the top right corner. Looks great!

  4. Good for you! I think it's good for the soul--creating anything is healthy. Lovely job--I guess it must be like getting back on a bicycle, since you got right back at it!

  9. You should have enjoyed it, too! It breaks a lot of rules, but it's an outstanding success. Never mind your first for 25 years, it's a success on any count. Congratulations.

  11. I just found your blog. I like how you are brave enough to try. I like the tree to the right in the painting. Have you seen Vickie Henderson's Art blog?
