Dogs On Thursday: Snowy Edition

These are freshly snapped photos outside my humble abode this morning.
Just around this tree at the corner I did my morning business around 6:30ish.
Last night we had between 1 and 2 inches fall, bringing us to a total of 15 inches this season, HUGE track record for the south, don't recall it ever happening before. Roads are a sheet of ice, no school today, can't get to work today. Seems like a perfect day for this:
Oh wait, I do this each and EVERY DAY. Mom was very disappointed that my snore was miniscule compared to usual. Hope all my buds that are having a snow day, make the best of it.......100 degree days will be here before you know it......now why do they refer to it as Dog Days of Summer?????? Go build a snowdog Snuffles, Annie, Ema, Luna, Buddy, Dizzy, Penney, Tonka, Hope, Trixie, Bella, Zoe, Chief, Sophie and Snickers!

Weather Outside Could Be Frightful!!!!!

The food, batteries, and salt have all been purchased, waiting now for the snow to start!!! We are in North Alabama and expect anywhere from 3-10 inches, down here that's almost paralyzing. Had to make preparations for the storm and to send BigBoy back to school today to avoid it all. He may get more ice where he is, miss him already. Will catch up with all soon as long as we get more snow than ice, keeping our electricity! VolleyGirl and I are thinking of snow statue ideas, if snow cooperates.

Dogs On Thursday

Happy New Year to all my good buddies out there including the two-legged ones that care for them. My very best buddy has been home for quite a while and it has been nothing short of pure bliss! Perhaps it is not proper that one of such high canine stature fawn over one so much but I am giddy, I say, giddy!!!!!!!! Numerous times each day you may find me exactly in this place of utter comfort and satisfaction as shown in the above photo. No, I refuse to think of it, will not go to that place in my mind......of his leaving again.
Fun times! Do you get me? Can you just see the happiness we make! Much to the surprise of my mom playing that white stuff outside on Christmas Day was so much fun! Take me out again....and again.....and again! Run!!!!
This is my best angle. Oh, who am I kidding, every angle is good. What? Did I hear someone mention snow is possible again? Woof, woof!!!!! Hope your year has started out great my friends Snuffles, Annie, Ema, Luna, Buddy, Dizzy, Penney, Tonka, Hope, Trixie, Bella, Zoe, Chief, Sophie, Budro and Snickers!

What A Little Snow Can Do...

We have a wee bit of snow on the ground, since Sunday. These photos are of BigBoy and VolleyGirl from our last little snow in early January. I was going to post a photo of the color pencil picture I was working on but the photo looks terrible, just doesn't accurately depict the work. After it is finished I will post it. Seem to be in some type of artist's block, along with dieter's block, exercise block, but I digress..........nothing is coming to mind to draw whatsoever!
All siblings are required to throw snow at one another and my 21 and 16 year olds are not too old for that.
Had to show you the photo I caught of VG..............before the end of the month she was in an orthapaedic boot for the stress fracture that apparently wasn't healed. Good photo though!!!

Snowkids and Zentangle

Yes, we actually had a bit of snow last week, along with the subfreezing temps. Here are my two little offspring, able to stand that close without punching or aggravating......that is in many of the other photos I took.
Finished this commissioned zentangle just this morning. It had MANY requested personal elements to be included. Some of them you may recognize easily and some you may not. I learned that I cannot do this by putting down a "picture" then trying to work around it. Had to begin over again after learning this. I literally have to draw a big squiggle line, study it and add the elements to it. Kind of like the game my dad and I used to play with BigBoy when he was young, draw a line, then the next one has to add to it or make something out of it. My time is very short to get some additional pieces ready for my exhibit that begins next month. I have worked a bit on an ink piece that hopefully I will post later this week. Wanting to do a painting, pencil drawing and some simpler zentangles............

Weekend Update

We have our first snow on the first day of March!!!

I created this zentangle last night while we were watching a little tv together after the day of volleyball. Welcome to March and Spring???

VolleyGirl played well in this weekend but her team was eliminated in the second match of tournament play on Sunday.
Have a lot of catching up to do around here at home and with all my blog friends! Give me a day or two.....there's laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning.....ugh. I had already been feeling a bit under the weather and two days of cheering have left me terribly hoarse but I'm betting you will even notice!!! Mr. Unplugged and VolleyGirl requested my silence last night however.............(no respect at all around here! Ha.)
