Dogs on Thursday: Late Edition

I've missed you.......but it hasn't kept me up, still able to rest my royal bod.

Embracing a little tv occasionally.

Paws down, my favorite thing in the world is wrestling with my best buddy. Using my fiercest growl with the occasional bark thrown in is simply thrilling and great fun!

Pretending that I'm really mad is such a rush, I wouldn't bite this boy for anything.

Minutes later, it's over and I'm tuckered out with my tongue hanging out and panting. Perfect for a lovely nap afterwards!
I miss chasing Dudley, he's been confined for a week now with inner ear trouble. Three trips to the vet. Wandering around the door mystified by the meows I'm hearing but not finding that furry thing drives me nuts!!! Hopefully he will be released soon and things get back to normal. Hope all my friends out there are healthy and have a wonderful Thanksgiving with their two legged buddies.This year I'm thankful that my best buddy is here year round! Enjoy it Snuffles, Emma, Luna, Buddy, Dizzy, Penney, Tonka, Hope, Trixie, Bella, Zoe, Chief, Sophie, Snickers and it's barkaliciously good to see Annie doing so well!!!!

Gosh....so meant to post Dogs On Thursday, SkyFriday and more! Time gets away from me, especially if I get on the computer but I've had other things going on. Big Boy and Mr. Unplugged went out of town over night. VolleyGirl and I went to our favorite Italian restaurant, returned home to watch some tv, all the chick flick type shows. Starting with a couple of episodes of "Say Yes To The Dress" followed by "The Notebook" then catching the last half of "Pride and Prejudice". Okay, had to override VolleyGirl to watch the rest of "Pride" since she's not a fan of period movies and I love them, this is one of my favorites too. She relented that it was good as i kept pointing out the dynamics between them. Then the next day we did some shopping, lovely girl time! I hope to keep up better this week but it's a full one too! Getting Dudley back to the vet with his ears after taking him last Thursday, poor thing, he's so pitiful now, couldn't believe a Dr. wasn't in the office Saturday. Called an ER vet to inquire if I needed to bring him in or if he would be okay to wait til Monday morning. Must get finished setting up my Etsy account, doing some art, cleaning (ack!) and topping it off with a cake for my niece that turns 1.

All that was incomplete on the artwork above was the "surface". Debated different colors and that Wednesday at the open house, woodgrain came to mind. Pondering what to do last Wednesday night I asked my son his opinion. He hesitated, then mentioned wood. Ha! Showed him the pencils I had already set aside and some of the sample color combinations I had tested out. We think alike often. Still, upon showing him the finished piece later that evening, I was a little surprised when he commented that he wasn't sure I could pull it off. Told him to just look around the room. My bedroom is full of oak furniture my father made. Oak was his favorite because of the vivid grain in the wood. The perfect reference was abundant.

Dogs On Thursday: My Mornings

Look, he's sitting right in front of me, while I am on the couch with mom. Every morning, sitting there, using that weird voice of his, wanting to be petted, teasing me with his blue eyes and that glorious tail of fluff......

Yeah, ....... you better run!

Chased him away! Yesterday, I caught him! It is perplexing as to why he does not enjoy my standing over him......maybe he does......he always comes back.........all the time. Mom tells me he wants to be friends and if I could sniff and run with him instead of standing on top of him it would be fun..............huh, thought I was having fun.

Where is he now? Is he back for more yet? Hey, my buddies- Snuffles, Annie, Emma, Luna, Snickers, Buddy, Dizzy, Penney, Tonka, Hope, Trixie, Bella, Zoe, Chief and Sophie, have some fun......go chase your friends!

Dudley, a.k.a., "Duddles", spends a lot of time on BigBoy's bed, it's near a window and quiet. Obviously, he preferred I use the soft focus lens, more flattering to his fur.............(also may be accomplished by hurriedly taking a photo, therefore creating a bit of a blurry image!)

Dudley would have no part of cooperation with the photo taking process. Gotta love the cattitude!

Finished this in record time...not totally pleased with it, but considering I was using brand new pencils and working quickly, won't complain. Still not a scanned image, so it doesn't appear very crisp here. Also, painted the background again on an earlier painting, painted some on two 8x10s, found frames for two ink pieces last posted, purchased more pens, brush and a project board for VolleyGirl's science project. Gathered all my other pieces to see just what all I had....for certain! Heaven forbid should I forget washing a couple of loads of clothes! Tomorrow I will paint and go get mats cut for a couple of pieces. After looking over what I have, any new pieces I do should be colored pencil or graphite pencil. Enjoyed taking a little time this morning to check in on some of you too......oh yeah, chased the royal one a bit too!

Ferocious Feline and Sound of Music

Dudley, our Ragdoll cat, appears as if he is yelling at me...he was at the very top of the back stairs as I started up so I snapped a few with my camera phone. Merely caught him during mid-yawn or he was showing off.

Cue the Hallelujah Chorus cause 'moi' completed another 'Maytagarama' last night!!!!! Already began another this morning. They are 24 x 36 in acrylic. I'll show you my progress....

The Zoo became busier today since we are getting a new roof and workers began this morning. The knocking and pounding doesn't bother me. Anxious to see it when it's finished, had to go with a different color. Almost every house around here has got a new roof.....remember the hail we had?

Award Winning Weekend.........

He seemed to look at me as if I was a foreign object.

He was beginning to relax and accept my prescence.

It was a fairly busy weekend around the house for me this past weekend. I kept thinking that I would get a little art accomplished, if I did, it was in the form of cooking and baking. I baked cookies, banana bread, made pizzas, homemade buttermilk biscuits and a wonderful pasta. Yeah, must have used up all the 'conversational veggies' last week! BigBoy was home from school and that usually keeps me hopping in the food department! I had wash to do and also took VolleyGirl to practice.

Last night I watched the Academy Awards, I like to see the fashion, the hair, the characters......I've only seen one of the nominated movies but have heard much about most of them. Being a bit of a newshound, whether it be politics, entertainment, music, world news.....or just call it nosey, I like to be up on it somewhat. I went to the recreation room where VolleyGirl was doing homework. She had the big screen tv on the awards. Dudley was a bit relunctant to share 'his' couch with me. Obviously, he managed to let go and relax a bit!

I do have an image in my head that hopefully will appear on paper before the day is over today. My thoughts drifted to Mim a couple of times yesterday and a softer, more peaceful image has come to mind.

Does He KNOW He Matches The Tree???

Finally....his first pictorial......and obviously he knows how to work it, work it, work it! Honestly, this cat has not had previous modeling training. There are many more of these but they have been sent off to be printed up for his portfolio!!! This is VolleyGirl's kitty, he is a ragdoll cat. This Dec. 23rd will be eight years that he has been with us, arriving at 10 weeks old. We brought him home on a busy day, as it was my parents 50th wedding anniversary, I had a cake to pick up, family dinner to attend, then family came over to the house afterwards. He was great. Oh, his name: Dudley. He is a people person, but NOT a lap cat. I have begged that cat to sit in my lap, but he does not, that I kind of miss. He does visit me each night, waking me up. He loves to aggravate His Royal "Hine"ness Apollo on the staircase since the Canine Messiah is not allowed on them. He does love to mess with the tree but will finally settle down and lay under it, perhaps knowing just how lovely he looks beneath it!

Yes, he does climb up the inside middle of the tree.......
