Just Pencil Me In....

8x10 graphite on bristol

Finished this Santa hat last week, hope to do another adding red before the weekend. Did I mention I am doing the Music and Arts Festival this Sunday? VolleyGirl and I had a great time on our little over night adventure. Hours of shopping, eating, (always getting a little lost, I am notorious for getting turned around wrong....) and lots of laughs. We didn't get home until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. Saturday morning was our scheduled get together with BigBoy's fiance', her mom and the other bridesmaids to look at dresses. Our first stop was a shop just minutes down our street. By the way, has anyone seen the movie "Bridesmaids"? It's a bit profane but terribly funny.I left the house not feeling the best, a little nauseous, didn't think too much of it cause I feel a little that way from time to time, attribute to medicines. Felt pretty good until the end of our stay there, which was a lot of fun, seeing the girls try on different styles and their opinions on them all. We were next going to a shop about 20 minutes away. I was, by this time, steadily getting worse.....green. Fiance' and mom were aware cause I had to mention it, needed to stop by house for a drink. We were going to ride all together but.....gosh, glad we didn't......let's just say that shop didn't have my full attention. I was tossing the cookies in the restroom (at least I made it), missed some of the dresses and discussion. So, unfortunately, we had to pass on the Mexican lunch, made it home, ran upstairs and didn't come back down for two days. Nausea, chills, aching joints, headache.....my family were very good caretakers. Still not sure if all the clothes survived some of my husband's washing techniques. I'm back on my feet but still not totally normal and my back is recovering from all that shopping followed by lying in the bed so long. Needless to say, the mister and myself did not go out of town......

  1. Darn the luck. You were having so much fun. I hope you get fully recovered soon. Love the Santa hat drawing. I keep wanting to do a fun drawing for our christmas cards. Need to get right on that but can't decide what to draw.

The trip sounded fun until you were not feeling well. Sounds like the flu. Hope you are all better now. Stay well.

  3. Bummer about getting sick. I hope you can make up that trip out of town with your Hubby. I guess that is what John Lennon meant by saying Life is what happens when making other plans. Hope your back to feeing good again. Your drawing IS incredibly good.

  4. I am so impressed by the drawing, I'm not sure that I can convey how much. It is well observed and sensitively drawn, good both technically and in the way it has been seen. Hearty congratulations.

  5. Great drawing! I cannot draw in that sort of detail. I am in awe of people that can.

Glad you are feeling better! Keep on recovering!

  6. I've been reading your latest entries from the past month or so. I don't know if the pepper comment posted, but I want you to know- I LOVE it!
My daughter's wedding was almost 2 weeks ago, but last year, this past weekend, I was in AZ with her, and mother-in-law, and some of the bridesmaids doing the very same thing you began doing. It was a very enjoyable time for me. I am so sorry that you became ill. Did she choose her dress? Will you have another time to shop?
I hope the art show went well~ I attended one this past weekend. Maybe one day I will actually participate in a show/sale.
    Be well~
