Little Bit of Art

Haven't created much art on paper yet but have had many creative days through totally redecorating VolleyGirl's room and baking two pretty large birthday cakes for nephews. I will post them soon. I have commited to a festival so have to kick it in gear.....thankfully, I work better under pressure. Hoping to get around to everyone soon!

Ink Drawing ! Warning: Boring Rambling

FINALLY finished this ink drawing, it is approx. 8x10. The photo isn't great, the paper is solid white, no shading, just black and white. Mr. U has started his new job, I've been the Lady in Waiting for His Majesty a lot. Has prevented me from doing much art. Think I've been in a bit of a rut but believe I am headed around the bend! Going through withdrawals....sugar is a strong substance you know!!!! It wasn't a mystery to me that my only options to help myself, to be the mother, wife and hopefully one day, grandmother is to take change my eating. Oh, I've lost before, years ago, took off 40 lbs with my diet and walking 3 miles daily. It is difficult with my love of food, "medicating" myself with it, unable to exercise like I used to....blah, blah, blah. Going to take off a little, then try the pool again, though it is even a bit hurtful. My foot has been giving me a great deal of pain, it is nerve pain that is from my back, it is non-stop but has worsened in recent months, some days/hours worse than others. I don't want to whine, but it combined with the knee, it's on the same leg and back itself keeps me depressed because it limits me and I get discouraged at the filthiness around me. Feel older than my years. Don't get me wrong, I am blessed and know it, soooo many others are worse off and I could be too. Constant pain is relentless and depressing and the fibro - it's like a poison cherry on top. Mr. U gets tired of it I know, as so do I. OKAY...enough of THAT but it gives you a peak into where I'm coming from, thanks y'all, for listening....just a bit of venting.

Tuesday on the Bloom

Though my brain seems to be empty...please hold the comments on the obviousness of this....I yearned to draw, so this morning I have for awhile. This is with a micron pen and is unfinished. Will fill up the entire space, provided the noggin doesn't go into complete lock down. All these edges will be touched on or added to in some manner. This week is different, Mr. Unplugged has taken the week off before beginning his new job and we have been vehicle shopping....need I say more?

Working BREAKING NEWS Away...

BREAKING NEWS: SHAMELESS, BURSTING OFFSPRING PRIDE BULLETIN! Just before going to bed last night, after speaking to BigBoy on the phone, he texted me saying that he forgot to tell me he was asked to design the cover for the college yearbook!!! Apparently someone had told the yearbook staff about him. This is the same university that just won the National Championship in college football.........University of Alabama- Roll Tide!!!!! How did you forget to tell your mother that on the phone!

Working away to get pieces ready by this Friday for the upcoming art exhibit. Both of these fill up an 8x10 space and are in ink. They will probably require my getting a special mat cut for them to be put into a 11x14 inch frame. This is due to the fact that they are on 9x12 paper but are too large for an 8x10 opening. The top one would fit an 8x10 opening but I want to leave a bit of a border around it. Neither is a very good photo......I did receive a brand new copier, scanner, printer from Mr. Unplugged at Christmas but must have him look at it again because I cannot get it to scan. The second zentangle was started in December, originally it was to be for someone else but, duh, I made the border larger than the 8x10 opening of the plexiglass type frame that I like to put these in, makes it look like it is floating. So, I started again on the one that was sold and decided that I would finish this one and frame it differently for the exhibit.

I was scheduled to work 5 hours yesterday but ended up working 8 so as to not leave a newly hired person there alone. I do not work again until Friday but my manager said I could have the day off if I needed it to get ready for the exhibit. While working, there are many periods of downtime where I am waiting for downloads on the computer to complete so I used the opportunity to make notes on all that is needed to be done this week. My big goal is to do 2 or 3 small paintings, one pencil drawing and perhaps a simple zentangle or two. There is one or two framing changes I am going to make, frame the latest work, price, name.....blah, blah, blah! Why am I here, typing you ask? Because I miss all of you....can't believe how it grinds my gears not to check in with you all! So......I will bid you goodbye for now and begin scanning the world for blogs!

Still here.......

I've tried to keep up a bit with everyone. This is BigBoy's pen drawing, one of his finals for a class, it is 16x20. He is job hunting this week and simultaneously eating everything in sight! The other day he created a website with all his work, will get his approval to post it. He has his wisdom teeth taken out this Friday - not looking forward to that since he has a strong gag reflex and eats like an infant - every two hours! VolleyGirl has exams next week then she is out for the summer, of course there will be volleyball workouts beginning in June. She has got to practice driving like mad in June since I managed to get her signed up for a driver's education class in July.

I have had a bit more energy the past couple of days but I have also been resting more. Heard from my second blood test and I do not have mono! But.... apparently I have had it.....news to me. Mr. Unplugged is curious as to where I got it.....I'm clueless....I told him he probably had it, didn't know it and gave it to me! Doesn't answer why my liver are enzymes elevated......on to an ultrasound next week. I am not overly concerned, they didn't sound that way. Will know next week. Thanks for all your caring comments, they mean alot to me.
