Perfect Timing

Thank you soooooooo very much LoLo for this compassionate and awesome award. Your artwork is impeccable and the warmth behind the award could melt chocolate! I am very touched that you have bestowed it upon me. This award goes to fellow bloggers who visit frequently and raise my spirits with their kind words of encouragement, their beautiful images and their wonderful outlook on life. They make blogging a positive experience and continue to make my life richer. I would like to pass it along to A Woman of No Importance, A Year of Art, Artist Victoria O'Neill, Hot Wheels Hacienda and back to Deepazartz as well!

I have not posted in a few days and have not left many comments. The day I checked some sites and noticed this award I had decided on a post I would make that I had been debating for a couple of days. Upon seeing the award I thought it was my sign to not post, so I didn't. Not meaning to sound mysterious, for the most part it is simply feeling overwhelmed and somewhat helpless. I have been feeling worse and more tired lately. Last week, I sat down with all my tools and a clean slate and couldn't come up with ANYTHING to draw! Tell me, what does someone post when your mind is like a blank canvas with not even a good coating of gesso on it? I have now started on something that you will see when it is complete. Easter Sunday I decided that I would do another 'empty tomb' drawing to give to my pastor. He shared that his mother said it was her favorite day of the year. She passed away early yesterday morning, always hard to lose your mother. I did bump into a friend at the grocery store that is always uplifting and supportive and we have made some plans. Once again, it was good timing! Now forgive my abrupt absence, I will try to begin catching up with your sites!

Amazing Love...

My good friend Soulbrush has once again bestowed an award to me. I am always flattered and grateful for the acknowledgement that it may be worth someone's time to bother reading my blog. Thank you so very much Soulbrush, you are always an inspiration. I will pay it forward soon.
Monday I finished this drawing while waiting in Barnes & Noble Bookstore as VolleyGirl and a couple of friends were in a movie. I also worked on another zentangle last night, should post it Friday or before.

A Whole Lot of Not Much - But Alot!

I STILL did not have time for any art yesterday, just doodling while on the phone with BigBoy last night - very late! Obviously, the food is still on my mind. VolleyGirl has a tournament this Saturday, but it is local thank goodness, but will still be long. There is more food I must prepare turkey sandwiches Saturday morning before we go. Sadly, I have just learned my next door neighbor's mother has passed away just over an hour ago at age 92. I should have something in mind to prepare to take over for them as well.
The always generous Soulbrush honored me and many others with this award yesterday. Thank you so much Mrs. Brush, you are too kind!!!!

I also received yet another gift in the mail from a blog friend which I plan to post in the next day or two! Apollo is sleeping on what he will carry on about tomorrow. BigBoy comes home tomorrow afternoon for Easter and VolleyGirl gets out at 1:00 tomorrow to begin a break that continues through Monday! I need to get myself busy, groceries, cleaning, always washing....but I should get to work on art when BB comes home since he takes over the royal duties!

Blessings to you all during this Holy Week.

Award, Image and Volleyball

I was blessed and thrilled to receive this 'Friends' award from A Woman Of No Importance a couple of days ago. Thank you soooo much, I return the award back to you tenfold. I have recently made many new friends so it will be difficult to choose.
"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these kind writers. When you pass the award along please include these guidelines. I am to choose eight friends to share this with." 8 friends, out of many, that have been supportive, friendly and just good fun include:

Thank you to all my 'old' and new blog friends!

The colored pencil quick sketch above is the softer image created with Mim in mind.....
Finally, two day volleyball tournament in our town this weekend but work starts tonight. Will be having a tougher time checking my site and visiting yours. Tomorrow morning we arrive at 7:30 for some hours of vball.....go VolleyGirl!!!!

My First Award, My First Meme, My First Tag

Soulbrush honored me with my very FIRST AWARD! It is the Lemonade Award. Thank you dearly Soulbrush! I am not real clear as to what it is for but I figure it means I am sweet and sour simultaneously and worth at LEAST 50 cents! I'm just excited to be thought of. Now, she has requested me to list 7 Random Facts about myself (to see what makes me so sweet and sour!) Bookmama has tagged me with my first meme. So here goes..................
7 Random Facts (about me)
1. I have been married for 25 and a half years now and a stay-at-home mom to a son (20), daughter (15) for 20 years. Christian, conservative.
2. Like to prepare desserts, decorate cakes (started out doing my kids' birthday cakes)
3. Just started painting on canvas a year ago, first since college.
4. Enjoy performing in theatre (when I can, didn't begin until age 35) have played "Amnesia" in Nunsense, "Prickly" in Magnolia , emcee events such as dance recitals and fundraising auctions.
5. Was a tomboy growing up (2 older brothers, no sisters). Played football, basketball, baseball and tennis with my cousin as the seasons changed. No teams for girls where I lived back then.
6. Love to sing but didn't sing in front of anyone until I was 35. Have performed solos in opera, contemporary christian, country, blues, gospel and broadway tunes.
7. Suffer with degenerative disc disease in neck and back, fibromyalgia, arthritis and putting off a total knee replacement (dislocated that knee in college while practicing for a dance team!)
That should put some type of picture (probably a cartoon) in the minds of some of you as to who I am. There is more that I could add either, I will get tagged again or you will have to wait for my sizzling autobiography!!!
