Dogs On Thursday: Soul Special

Originally, my plan for today's "hear ye! hear ye! celestial canine time" was on the topic of a new friend coming into the fold of the extended family. However, due to the comment left by my second mum, Miss Soulbrush, considering she has been ill the last few days. The topic today will be more focused on "moi". Dearest Mummy Soul, I know you have been requesting it, my mom here has stepped beyond the boundaries to bring you some never before seen photos......hope you enjoy them, feel better soon (slurp)!
First, allow me to share a few words on the ballgame last Sunday. Though my team did not walk away with the win, my salutations go out to the state of Louisiana and my Uncle's sidekick, "Pee Wee." Their jubilance is over the top, though Pee Wee probably is immune to the noise. He is quite elderly and this morning's report is that he has lost almost all of his sight and hearing but retains his physical prowess! You keep on waggin' buddy!
Warning: These next four photos may contain canine nudity and subject matter not suitable for children!
My best buddy gives me the royal dip regularly behind closed doors........mom, that crazy, canine, puppyrattzi entered, with permission, to take these photos last weekend.
The shame of it - me, the Royal 'Hine'ness, Canine Messiah, buck naked, soaped up, like some type of common soap commercial!
Zone out, that's what I do, just concentrate on my next meal, or anything! Mom explained to me that Second Mum misses out on these tender moments and that I should put my pride aside for her...........so I did.
How freeing it felt, once that wall was let down! This personal moment was yesterday, immediately after my morning meal. Such a great feeling to run to the den, scruff around, roll on the rug. The canine puppyrattzi caught me again as I held this calming, comfortable pose for a few minutes yesterday. Feel free to blow it up into a poster, Mummy Soul.
Well, after the physical and EMOTIONAL week, YOU would be tired too!!!
Friends, far and near, furry and fur-free, don't hold back from the ones you love, particularly this Valentine's weekend! Especially Snuffles, Annie, Emma, Luna, Snickers, Buddy, Dizzy, Friday, Penney, Tonka, Hope, Trixie, Bella, Zoe, Chief and, coming next week - Sophie!

Come On Down!!! You're The Next Contestant......

You Want To Play???

Upon visiting the illustrious site of Soulbrush last night, I discovered that she had an interesting 'game' and challenge.....even a dare. Hmmmm, I'm not one to shun a good dare!

Here's how it works....
The first five (5) people to respond to this post will get something made by me.This offer does have some restrictions and limitations so please read carefully:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. Whatcha get is whatcha get.
2. What I create will be just for you, with love.
3. It’ll be done this year (2009).
4. I will not give you any clue what it’s going to be. It will be something made in the real world and not something cyber. It may be weird or beautiful. Or it may be monstrous and annoying. Heck, I might bake something for you and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that’s for sure!
5. I reserve the right to do something strange.
6. In return, all you need to do is post this text on your blog and make 5 things for the first 5 to respond to your blog post.
7. Send your mailing address - after I contact you.

IMPORTANT: This offer is null and void if I do not see you post your own blog to pay this forward.

This text was used from: http://soulbrush.blogspot.com/ who got it from

Dogs On Thursday: My Desires and Dears

My best buddy was home for a few days last weekend and I showed him my new toy. I don't understand why they won't let me play with it long though.....with just a little work I could get that annoying squeaky thing out...I know it! They put it up in the closet and no matter how much staring is done at the door gently letting them know moi would like it back, they totally ignore me then occasionally seem quite annoyed! Hello, you got it for me didn't you? Gonna have to work on those royal subjects of mine, let them know whose in charge!
There was something new on mom's desk in the kitchen.....it had an awesome aroma, that big egg thingy......my sniffer was quite taken with it and I yearned to know more.
Ah, yes, that IS one more enticing odor going on there.....
Dang! She's making me get down, just when it seemed to be within my grasp.....oh no, I could almost taste it!
I can't leave without giving a snort out to Soulbrush, she is quite taken with me (duh, I'm awesome) and my only wish is I could have smelled those awesome bulldogs she used to own....she has posted pics of them today and I must admit to being impressed! She wouldn't take my toy away, she's English and would know how to treat an English bulldog of my stature! Did you see how foxy she looked??? Mom! We don't HAVE to fly first class!

In The Palm of My Hand and Taking the Challenge........

One of my latest obsessions........love to get my hands on a zentangle!
I am (gulp) taking the challenge, given by none other than Soulbrush, of posting 1o facts about myself for the next seven days. The challenge is not DOING it, it is THINKING of things, by the seventh day I will probably be counting hairs on my head or doing weird, insane things, in order to have something to list-stay tuned for I could be making the news later in the week! O.K., here goes:
1) I have never been outside the U.S.
2) Played the trumpet in school for 8 years
3) Have been in seven weddings yet didn't have one of my own
4) Held my mother's hand as she took her last breath
5) Sang my first solo at 35
6) Have slept overnight in my car more than once
7) I have always enjoyed watching t.v.
8) Drove myself to the ER with appendicitis
9)Quarterback on intramural football team in college
10) Sprayed cotton one summer

Almost A Typical Day For Dogs On Thursday

My day began much as usual. Mom gets up and takes me outside about 6:10, it was cold this morning! I usually sleep really late, like 11:00 or later, why not? The couch is all for me and that down comforter is pretty cozy. Today dad fed me and mom stuck that silly thing in my face again....when I'm trying to eat!!! Dad had to be out of the house today and it just isn't the same sitting in my favorite chair without him here. I hope he gets home soon.........where's Soulbrush when you need her?
