Animal Wednesday

There he (or she?) is at the top of our house. Running away as I stepped from the van, watched as it ran up to the house and sat. No zoom on the cellphone camera I have now....drives me nuts!!!!
Have not created any new art lately but don't believe I have shared this portrait that BigBoy did a couple of years ago. Biscuit, a golden retriever we had for years until he passed a few years ago. Have a great Wednesday!

Jolly Good Wednesday!

Unfortunately, art has not been taking place around here the last few days. Efforts to get my jollies through errands, laundry and housework has proved to be in vain. The son will be arriving from the university Thursday afternoon for spring break. Tomorrow I will be having my mane maintained and Friday I work 9 to 2. That leaves today for more thrills through cleaning/tidying. The Mr. has left for some work related errands leaving me to watch the Canine Messiah which will limit my partying abilities a bit. I will top off the evening by making good on the darkened bananas staring at me by baking banana bread since BigBoy loves it so. Above is a pencil drawing by the talented BigBoy.

Animal Wednesday, Yesteryear

Let's go back, back into time....it's the early, early 80's and I am in my dorm room working on this drawing for class. Assignment? Do not remember. Grade? It is probably scribbled on the back of the drawing paper. This is both my kids' favorite. Photo not so great. Had this framed for our very first house, um, around twenty-one years ago so that's what is making the different shades show up in the photo. This is approximately 16x24. I still remember working on it as I sat on my bed in the dorm.
C-c-cold today.....and we were standing out looking at vehicles again...the wind was blowing...............

Nomination, Drawing Progress and Drawing Blood....

A big, heartfelt thank you to all that left such sweet comments for the post about mom. Sadly, too many of you commented on losing your mom to cancer also. It is pure evil and has robbed way too many of our loved ones. Thank you David McMahon of Authorblog for the nomination of "Tribute to Mom" for Post Of The Day, I appreciate all the new readers that stopped by from your site. I will get by to all of your sites eventually!
The graphite pencil drawing is a work in progress. Yes, you've seen this seen before around Easter. I have tried to create a little different style to this one. This will be a gift for a friend. BigBoy and I bought a frame Saturday as we shopped in the art supplies. I'll will post it when it is finished.
Working hard around here, trying to keep the hollow boyman fed, trying to get some art time in. Went to my Dr. today, gonna do blood work this week......have the feeling my exhaustion is attributed to depression...kind of hoping my B12, thyroid or something will be off instead, we'll see. Gonna pick myself up by the bootstraps, uh, maybe bra straps, since I am not wearing boots...ha!

I Was Not There.......Duh

Thanks to all of you thinking of VolleyGirl and her class as they traveled home from their trip yesterday. They arrived safely around 4:00 p.m. and did not have to travel in rain. We were spared from severe weather last night as was BigBoy at school!

Here is the pencil drawing that I posted a thumbnail of a few days ago. I cannot decide if I am pleased with it or not but I did learn from it and would not do it the same way should I choose this scene again. Funny thing, Mr. Unplugged commented that this event didn't look like that, which I responded as to how he knew. Told him there wasn't any photos of it, or sketches either so it could just be EXACTLY what it looked like! Critiques are welcome.......

Yesterday's Gone........Thankfully!

Tuesday started off fine, at least it was at 6:15 in the morning when the four-legged boss was taken out first thing. Shortly after though, the blur that I was seeing from my right eye meant I could expect a headache. I very, very rarely have a migraine and only once or twice has it ever been bad. Drove VolleyGirl to school then came home and laid on the couch with the Canine Messiah. It worsened, nausea, throw up, lovely picture, huh? Finally dozed off, woke up, some better, then VolleyGirl calls from school wanting me to pick her up cause she's not feeling well. Thankfully, I was better, but it leaves what I call a headache hangover where you still feel a bit bad and drained. She had experienced dizziness and nausea....I think it is sinus trouble. She's ok. Went to grocery store, had to, had put it off yesterday. Took it easy for the most part. Later, BigBoy calls, and I answered the phone with "did you win?" He told me over the weekend he was playing a rec basketball game at 4:00. My reply was did he think that was a good idea....I knew he would go full speed, jump big, go all out. He's a really big boy now, not built like a basketball player, more like a big lineacker and whether I like it or not, he lifts alot of weight and eats a lot of food and is pushing 6'4" (he's grown in college). I feared him messing up an ankle or knee. First words from his mouth was "you jinxed me." Great. I could tell he was upset. Sure enough, turned his right ankle and he suspected it was broken. I told him I did not jinx him, just never felt good about it and had spent some time telling myself that I shouldn't worry about a 20 year old playing basketball. How would he get to class, to eat, to the doctor. Long story shortened (a bit), it is not broken and it is very black and blue this morning, but swelling is better and he can put weight on it and is able to drive. Whew! My parents must have felt terrible when I hurt my knee away at college and was put in a huge cast, couldn't drive my Volkswagen beetle. My mother wanted me to come home but I wanted to stick it out.......know how it feels now. We dodged a bullet this time!

Here is a pencil drawing from years ago, today is another day!
