"Display Eve"

Started this Sunday and worked on it some last night and today. Also have another snowman well on the way. These ornaments won't be floating when I'm finished. I shade in pencil first then add color pencil and shade a bit more with those. I go ahead and color the ball as I finish to avoid pencil smears. These are fairly large, each is around four inches across, will be an 8x10. Hopefully finish it tonight to take tomorrow to my friend's open house event. 8x10 graphite and color pencil
I know, you've seen one snowman, you've seen them all....but all are a little different, no two alike. The detail and color doesn't show up real well. I gave my previous Alabama snowman to my future daughter-in-law and her family as a little gift for the new house they just moved into so I had to get another ready for tomorrow's event. Sorry, I haven't been around to everyone....been trying to catch up on laundry and draw after being away with the hubs, had a good time. Promise to catch up soon. Keep your fingers crossed for me on Wednesday!!!!

I've Been Framed!

8x10 graphite and color pencil on bristol

Up to my eyeballs with things to do for the festival tomorrow. Learn some lessons from the first time. Was hoping to have more pieces complete but sometimes plans get a curveball. Finished this one last night and have a neat frame for it which I will post later on. It looks much better in person, the fabric looks like velvet. Mr. Unplugged prefers the color version, while BigBoy likes the graphite, being an artist himself I think he appreciates seeing the shading more without color. Contrary to what you may think, my house does not have Santa hats lying around everywhere! Actually, these are just figments of my imagination.
Here is the other Santa hat in graphite that I just framed yesterday. Duh, can you tell I'm hoping viewers will be wanting some items for the approaching holidays? The guys went out of town overnight, yep, took that little trip the Mr. and I were going to do last weekend. That's okay, we can go another time! Hoping to get around to site's soon after cramming for the festival today and tomorrow. Hope all has a safe and memorable weekend.

Work Cut Out For Me

This guy doesn't portray his true colors. The paper is pretty white with a very light blue background and he's pretty white.
These look better in "live" also. I could just say that so you would think they look better than they do, but they really do! You have seen the chocolate iced before but I added the paper. These are all in graphite and colored pencils. Yikes! I have to have things ready for the coffee shop display for the month of November! Almost completed another drawing tonight so I will post it in a day or two. Will try to get around to y'all's sites tomorrow................ :)
