Ramblings of a Boring Artist

I'm craving art.....hopefully I will do some soon! Right now, it's been catch up with house chores, blech! I was really under the weather all week and worse Saturday and Sunday. Today, I am better. Though now, it has begun. Cue scary music.....VOLLEYBALL TASKS! Yes, it officially started today with the team hosting two sessions of camp for younger girls. They have an afternoon and evening session and parents provide food for them in between the sessions. I washed a couple of pounds of grapes and strawberries for the food table and took the second shift for registering campers. They host another next month, go to the gym at 7 a.m. a couple of mornings and my favorite................ SELLING $600 WORTH OF PROGRAM ADS! VolleyGirl will be helping of course. This morning I sent out the first emails, gonna have to start making the rounds, they are due in a couple of weeks. This process of practice, gym, camp at a university and fundraising will continue until school starts. Later in August the matches will start, then it is really a whirlwind until it ends sometime in October. I enjoy it, but right now, not really feeling it, but it is the very last season of sports after going through all the years with the two kids, so I will do my best to squeeze every drop of enjoyment and memories I can.

Changing the subject, went for a second opinion on my knee today. Verdict is the same, nothing further can be done, get a new model. Sooooooo, hopefully it will be scheduled before long so as to take advantage of BigBoy being home. Work tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday.

The photo above was taken before chopping them up for a recipe of sausage, peppers, onion, creole seasoning, crushed tomatoes, garlic and penne pasta. Thought I might like to sketch or paint them once upon a time............

  1. Your artistic abilities shine through in the way you organise the threads of life's rich patterns. What you aint is boring. Hope you get to do your art soon.

  2. Hi AU,
Sorry to hear you've been under the weather :-(

Glad you're feeling some better... and it's not too late to paint those peppers.... you still have the photo!

  3. Love reading your blog. I think your writing is as beautiful as your painting my friend.
    Have a great day!

  4. Whew! Let me catch my breath from reading all that! It sounds to me like you need an art kit to take with you so you can squeeze in some art time on the go!

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather—hope it's easing and you're on your way to enjoying the (busy) summer!

  5. hey girl! if you feel like making art, then do it...follow that mood, don't put it off...

  6. You are not boring. You may be bored with all these tasks that you have to perform but you are not boring. Be sure to have a pen and pad in your bag at all times. Sketch when you can. Hang in there. We will be reading about empty nest syndrome in no time.

  7. So sorry to hear you haven't been well, but glad to hear you're feeling a little better. Sending you lots of good thoughts and prayers.

  8. I bet you get inspired once your knee is fixed - somehow physical ills seems to make us all less creative. and you'd do a great job on those peppers - go for it!

  9. great header...
    you bored? never!
a new knee, oh no, painful...but at least that household will have to look after you for once!
hugs to you from me xxxx
